What is a Park Model Home?
Park Model Trailers are small, quaint RV’s that look like Single Wide Manufactured Homes, with lots of extras. They can be built with storage lofts and covered porches. These little homes on wheels are charming.
Park Homes, although considered recreational vehicles, are transportable and primarily designed for long-term or permanent placement at a destination where an RV is allowed. When set up, Park Homes are connected to the utilities, necessary to operate the home, fixtures and appliances. Park Homes must remain under 400 square ft. to qualify as a recreational vehicle under federal and state laws.
Park Homes are built on a single chassis, mounted on wheels and do not exceed 400 sq. ft. They are certified by their manufacturers as complying with ANSI A119.5 standard for recreational park trailers. In California, they comply with California Health and Safety Code Section 18009.3. They are typically allowed any place a 5th wheel trailer or motor home is allowed.
